The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that helps to ascertain the heart’s rhythm and rate. Our veterinarian may need to combine the findings of an ECG with those from blood tests, x-rays, and possibly cardiac ultrasounds to get a complete picture of how your pet’s heart is functioning. An ECG procedure is quick, safe, non-invasive, and only takes a few minutes.

The body sends electrical impulses to the heart, which stimulate normal rhythm and pace in heartbeats— electrocardiograph works by detecting and recording electrical changes caused by a heartbeat. Our veterinarian uses this information to determine the heartbeat and rate of your pet and diagnose any issues.
