Pet Permanent Identification

We offer microchipping as a form of permanent identification and recommend this procedure for all our patients.

Pet Permanent Identification

According to PetFinder, one in every three pets will go missing at some time in their life, and over 10 million pets go missing each year. An estimated 9 million pets without permanent pet identification are dropped at animal shelters each year in the United States. Just 15% of lost dogs and 2% of lost cats are ever discovered and given back to their owners, which is a sad fact that we hope to change.

The Country View Veterinary Clinic team suggests pet microchipping as a long-lasting means of pet identification. The microchip, which is around the size of a rice grain, is implanted between the shoulder blades of your dog or cat, resulting in only minor discomfort. This microchip can be read by any animal shelter or veterinary hospital to connect your pet with your contact information.
